Clara haskell botstein

Hi neighbors!

My name is Clara Haskell Botstein, and I am thrilled to be your new Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) for 4C08.

I want to hear from you about the issues you care about and how you’d like to interact with the ANC. I’d also like to get your contact information so I can stay in touch. To that end, please fill out this brief survey.

I'm excited to work on behalf of our community and help to make sure your voices are heard by city government, elevate and solve problems, and work to strengthen our community with a focus on access, equity, and quality of life. See below for more about the issues I care about, and please share your ideas!

Petworth has been my home for four and a half years. I love our neighborhood, and I'm passionate about building community, elevating diverse voices and perspectives, and helping local government work effectively for all residents.

I have nearly 15 years of experience in public policy and working with government to effect change, primarily on behalf of public education and youth development programs. As a leader of the Bard Early College, which offers free college programs to public high school students, I was proud to bring our early college model to DC in 2019 through a partnership with DC Public Schools. I have a record of delivering results, including at Bard and as Board Chair of Two Rivers Public Charter School. I am respectful, inclusive, hard-working and solutions-oriented.

I am an enthusiastic fan of the arts and enjoy outdoor activities, organizing events, and my large orange tabby cat, among other things. I look forward to getting to know and work with you!

Como lo han de saber, el comisario del ANC es un puesto voluntariado de apoyo público del vecindario con el propósito de elevar asuntos locales, ayudar a vecinos a navegar el gobierno local, y hacer sugerencias al gobierno del Distrito de Columbia.
